On behalf of the Nordic Association for Medical History it is a pleasure to invite you to the XXth Nordic Medical History Congress that will take place from 10 th to 13 th August 2005 in Reykjavík. Iceland has now the privilege to host the Nordic Congress for the third time. The congress will offer an opportunity to share scientific
experiences
, to strengthen friendship and to enjoy Iceland. It is our intention to emphasize the common
interests
of the Nordic countries and develop an international forum.
The scientific program with its various topics reflects the characteristics of the
northern
countries and will be of great interest to all hobby and professional medical-historians and related scientists.

Reykjavík has gained an international reputation as a popular congress city with numerous cultural activities in the most
northern
metropolis in a land with magical landscape,
midnight sun
and an old history. Our social program will take advantage of that.
We are convinced that a combination of history of medicine, meeting friends and learning about a new country is a
splendid
way to make a memorable vacation. We will encourage all participants to enjoy the Icelandic summer in the countryside, in the highland or on a glacier during the day and in the mysterious light night. We are offering tours before and after the congress that might be the easiest way to learn the country.
